2nd International Workshop on "Ankylosing Spondylitis: Tales of Molecules and Patients"

October 12-13, 2023. Over two days, participants learned the latest advances in the field of Ankylosing Spondylitis and related autoimmune disorders, on topics ranging from basic science to the clinic. Together with distinguished rheumatologists, the meeting hosted presentations by leaders in the fields of immunology and bone remodelling. Many topics that were discussed are at the forefront of research, fostering the development of novel and personalized therapies for patients. The event brought together researchers, active on basic and translational sciences, with clinicians in the fields of Rheumatology, Internal Medicine, and Paediatrics, with the goal of encouraging new collaborations. The meeting was possible thanks to support from the Fondazione Ceschina and the Swiss National Science Foundation. Fondazione Ceschina is a non-profit foundation that supports research on rare diseases, with particular focus to systemic inflammatory diseases, such as Ankylosing Spondylitis.

1st International Workshop on "Ankylosing Spondylitis: Tales of Molecules and Patients"

From September 30 to October 1, 2017, the Fondazione Ceschina supported the organization of the 1st International Workshop on "Ankylosing Spondylitis: Tales of Molecules and Patients". The workshop was held at the Università della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, and focused on various advancements in basic research related to ankylosing spondylitis. The workshop aimed to identify critical issues and gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed. This meeting was attended by more than 70 international academics and medical specialists.
